BROADENING YOUR HORIZONS

While life has every right to say no to our endeavors, too many time we say no to ourselves preemptively when we think things like, “I’m not good enough,” “I can’t do it,” or “I’ll never make it.”

In this way, we are judging and rejecting ourselves before life has had a chance to express a choice. This self-rejection stops us from living the life of our dreams and keeps us trapped in disillusionment.

The way out is through unconditional self-love. Loving ourselves unconditionally gives us the opportunity to enjoy the greatest love of our life - ourselves. This type of love is not based on the false image of ego, but on truly accepting ourselves for who we are at this moment.

In this way, we respect ourselves by being willing to try new things. When life says no to us, as it inevitably will sometimes, we respect that choice also, without self-judgement. But who knows? Life may just say yes!

Practice

With awareness, don’t be afraid to try something outside the normal boundaries you have set for yourself. Be optimistic, and always do your best. Life will take care of the rest.
