THE TAO OF MONEY

Some may find it surprising that those who follow the Tao apply its principles to money. They feel that the Tao is from a higher, spiritual plane, while money is from a lower, materialistic plane, so the two should not mix.

The prevalent concept of money is our society is not positive. Someone who wants it is greedy; someone who grasps on to it is stingy; and someone who has a lot of it is filthy rich. Evidently, people feel there is something unwholesome and unclean about it.

Real sages of Tao do not look at it that way. They look past the negative associations of money into its essence, and they see that it is nothing more than a way to measure our exchange of energy with one another. Thus, the principles that govern all other aspects of the world apply to financial matters equally well. The same skills that help them achieve balance in life can also help them manage money in a harmonious way. Nothing is beyond the all-inclusive Tao.

The Tao Today

Do you also harbor negative feelings about money? If so, consider formulating a new concept of money as a neutral quantity. Do not waste time passing judgement on it as good or bad. It is only a tool that we can use for good or bad. Direct your energies toward the right way to achieve prosperity, and the right way to use the abundance in your life for the greatest good.
